Meet our Board of Directors

The Board of Directors plays a crucial role in supporting the organization’s mission and ensuring that everything runs smoothly and responsibly. Each year, they set a fundraising goal, always aiming to exceed the previous year’s performance and stay actively involved in planning and reviewing their efforts. Board members are committed, informed, and passionate about helping the organization grow and build a strong future.

The Board serves as a bridge between the Foundation and WSU Extension, advising the Cowlitz County Program Coordinator and supporting open communication and collaboration. It regularly reviews and approves the Memorandum of Agreement with WSU Extension to clarify roles and responsibilities, helping to ensure the continued growth and success of the Master Gardener program in Cowlitz County.
Board Overview
The elected Board includes a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. All serve one-year terms, except the Treasurer, who serves two years. The President may serve no more than two terms within six years. Additional members include the immediate past President (ex officio), a two-year appointed State Representative, a one-year appointed Program Director, and other members as needed. The Board of Directors manages the affairs of the Foundation on behalf of its membership of Master Gardener volunteers. Their main duties are to accept contributions and administer those funds.
